When Richard Van Ness tries to ground dashing pilot Nick Talbot, his girlfriend's brother, from flying an unimportant cargo run in foul weather, he is blackmailed into allowing it because Nick threatens to tell airline boss Boyd Spencer about Van's intermittent blackouts. When Nick's plane apparently crashes near the Channel Islands, there are many nagging questions about the circumstances. Although he is innocent himself of wrongdoing, Van Ness is pressured by the police to aid them in uncovering some of the criminal activities associated with the operation, including blackmail, smuggling gold, and counterfeiting. In order to obtain the information he needs, Van Ness is forced into romancing Boyd's grasping girlfriend, who finds herself very attracted to the flier.

Ernie Reardon, the superintendent, and Bill O'Hara, the foreman, of a construction company crew working on a bridge to a remote valley, are constantly quarreling over small and minor matter, especially when it comes to Peg Mallory, whom both men are romancing and Peg enjoys the attention. Produced after the enormous success of Dallas, Lorimar Productions likewise produced the new serial for CBS.Secrets of Midland Heights was aimed at the teen audience, and featured romantic triangles and secrets among the teens and their parents who populated a fictional midwestern college town called Midland Heights. Aired on Saturday night at 10 PM EST/9 PM Central, the series never found an audience and was canceled after eight episodes.The show resembled a dark, 1980s-style Peyton Place, both dealing with hidden secrets and scandalous affairs in a small town. Lisa Rogers carried on with college jock Burt Carroll while also seeing fraternity jerk Mark; good girl heiress Ann Dulles secretly dated high school dropout John; Holly Wheeler wanted to lose her virginity to her boyfriend Teddy Welsh, but the teens were shocked to discover her mother Dorothy was having an affair with Teddy's father Nathan.

Nina is a reporter who works in a Latin American country at war when she finds herself trapped in the line of fire and hires a mercenary pilot named Victor to help her escape the place, but the plane is attacked and the journalist and pilot have to parachute off the plane. They fall into the sea but with a life raft they make it to the jungle, where they have to coexist and she learns to survive.
